EFFECT OF STEEL FIBER ON THE STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF CONCRETE Munish kumar

Abstract: This paper presents the result of an experimental study investigating the effect of steel fibres on the Mechanical properties. In this project, I am going to carry out test on steel fibre reinforced concrete to check the influence of fibres on flexural Test, split tensile strength test of concrete. The main aim of this experiment is to study the strength properties of steel fibre concrete of M20 grade with 0%, 0.25%, 0.5% and 0.75% by volume of concrete from the exhaustive and extensive experiment to work it was found that with increase in steel fibre content there was a increase in flexural and split tensile strength of concrete. It is now well established that one of that the important properties of steel fiber reinforced concrete is its superior resistance to cracking and crack propagation. As a result of this ability to arrest crack, fiber composite posses increased extensibility and tensile strength ,both at first crack and at ultimate ,particular under flexural loading and the fibers are able to hold the matrix together even after extensive cracking. The net result of all these is to impart to fiber composite pronounced post-cracking ductility which is unheard of material would increase substantially the energy absorption characteristics of the fiber composite and its ability to withstand repeatedly applied ,shock or impact loading . In this paper, the mechanics properties, technologies of steel fiber reinforced concrete are discussed.

A REVIEW STUDY ON USE OF RICE HUSK ASH AS PARTIAL REPLACEMENT WITH CEMENT IN CONCRETE

Abstract: Throughout the world, concrete is being widely used for the construction of most of the buildings, bridges etc. Hence, it has been properly labeled as the backbone to the infrastructure development of a nation. Currently, our country is taking major initiatives to improve and develop its infrastructure by constructing express highways, power projects and industrial structures to emerge as a major economic power and it has been estimated that the infrastructure segment in our country is expected to see investments to the tune of Rs.4356 billion by the year 2009. To meet out this rapid infrastructure development a huge quantity of concrete is required. Unfortunately, India is not self sufficient in the production of cement, the main ingredient of concrete and the demand for exceeds the supply and makes the construction activities very costlier. Hence, currently, the entire construction industry is in search of a suitable and effective the waste product that would considerably minimize the use of cements and ultimately reduces the construction cost.

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF CEMENT CONCRETE WITH RICE HUSK ASH

Abstract: Concrete is the most commonly used material for construction. The worldwide production of cement has greatly increased since 1990. Supplementary cementitious materials have been widely used all over the world in concrete due to their economic and environmentally benefits. By addition of some pozzolanic materials, the various properties of concrete workability, durability, strength and resistance to crack can be removed. Various types of pozzolanic materials that improve the cement properties have been used in industries. In the present investigation, a feasibility study is made to use Rice Husk Ash as an admixture to an already replaced Cement with fly ash (Portland Pozzolana Cement) in Concrete, and an attempt has been made to investigate the strength parameters of concrete (Compressive and Flexural). For control concrete, IS method of mix design is adopted and considering this a basis, mix design for replacement method has been made. Four different replacement levels namely 5%, 10%, 15% and 20 % are chosen for the study concern to replacement method. Large range of curing periods starting from 3days, 7days and 28days are considered in the present study.

AN EVOLUTIONARY ENERGY EFFICIENT CLUSTERING PROTOCOL FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

Abstract: The Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is an emerging area for the researchers for its easiness in deployment. WSNs are ad- hoc networks in which all sensor nodes are scattered to form network. These sensor node shaving limited resources in terms of energy, memeoy and power etc. WSNs are rapidly growing technology which is very useful for numerous environment applications. In this research, the main target is on escalassions of network life time. The technique of clustering in which aggregation of data is being taken place at the end of cluster head (CH) Incliness pecifice loquent factors to enlarge life-span of the network. In this paper, a hybrid biogeography based optimization (BBO) with differential evolution (DE), namely BBO/DE is introduced for optimal selection of CHs. BBO is a latest biogeography inspired method, in which migration operator is used forexchanging the data/information amongdifferent solutions. On the other hand DE is best known for its global optimization. The hybrid combination of BBO and DE effectively counter-balances the exploitation of BBO followed byexploration of DE. This approach generates the number of best candidate solutions.Further, the simulation results demonstrate that the schemed algorithm outperforms as compared to existing algorithms in terms of system lifetime and energy dissipation.

GLOBAL SCENARIO ON ESTIMATION OF PASSENGER CAR UNIT: A REVIEW

Abstract: Passenger Car Unit (PCU) is the metric used to convert heterogenic traffic in to homogenous traffic. In India traffic pattern is heterogeneous .it is necessary to convert heterogeneous traffic to homogenous traffic while designing any signalized intersection. PCU Value is dynamic in Nature. PCU value is depends upon current road traffic condition. In India PCU value is based on value given in IRC SP 41. Developed countries devised several methods for calculating PCUs. These PCU values (devised in developed countries) are not suitable for Indian heterogeneous traffic conditions this paper reviews the estimation carried out to find PCU value worldwide. 1.

DEVELOPMENT OF PASSENGER CAR UNITS (PCU), CASE STUDY OF GHANTAGHAR CHOWK, KARNAL DISTRICT OF HARYANA

Abstract: The increasing of traffic volume at our intersection has been arise a problems like road accidents, conflicts and congestions. These problems can solve by providing an efficient traffic signal control at the intersection for continuous and efficient movement of vehicles through the intersection. According to traffic signal, signal timing is most important which is used to decide green time of the traffic light shall be provided at an intersection and how long the pedestrian walk signal should be provided. Traffic volume studies are to be made to determine the number, movement and classification of vehicles at the given location. These data is used identify normal flow of the road; determine the influence of heavy vehicles or pedestrians on vehicular traffic volume. The length of the sampling period depends on the type of count being taken. According to manual count with 15-minute intervals could be used to obtain the traffic volume data. The collected data is converted into PCU units. Webster’s method is a rational approach for signal design. The design is simple and is totally based on formulae’s laid down by Webster. In this method, the total cycle of the signal is determined which forms a total least delay occurring at signal.
